Thirty rinks entered their names into the Ladies' Bonspiel at the Uptown Curling Rink last weekend. Teams competed with games on Friday and Saturday, withthe finals getting underway on Sunday. Though there were fewer teams registered than previous years, as 32 entered last year, coordinator Denise Davis says things still went pretty well. "It was good," said Davis. "From the comments I heard....all were very happy with the bonspiel." Looking back on the weekend, a few glitches aside, Davis agrees things went well. Aside from the curling, there was entertainment Friday and Saturday night as well as the banquet at the end of the weekend. "Everyone seemed happy," Davis noted. With a few years under her belt of coordinating the event, Davis says she hopes to see more curlers out next year to help. With a laugh she says she will be back helping next year, but adds she hopes some of the other ladies in the club "step up." "More people, less work," she stated.
