The La Ronge Ice Wolves announced on Tuesday that former SJHL player Colin O'Hara has been named the club's new assistant coach. O'Hara spent one season with the Battlefords' North Stars organization back in 1997-98 and was a member of the 1997 SJHL Selects Viking Cup team. Colin's junior hockey resume also includes two seasons in the Western Hockey League (Swift Current Broncos 95-96/Medicine Hat Tigers 96-97). Following his junior career, the product of Edmonton, Alberta toiled in the Western Professional League (now the Central Hockey League) for the Austin Ice Bats and spent two seasons in Europe playing for the Romford Raiders in London, England. Most recently, O'Hara has been with the Banff Hockey Academy in Banff, Alberta where he was an assistant coach in the Heritage Junior B League, a program which helped produce current Ice Wolves defenceman Patrick Voll. "I'm thrilled to be here and looking forward to the challenge of supporting this club in its pursuit of an SJHL playoff berth," said O'Hara.
