The Hapnot Kopper Kweens on the senior varsity pre-zone tournament in Cross Lake, MB, on October 24-25. There were seven teams representing zone 11 Ð Cross Lake, Norway House, Thompson, The Pas, Cranberry Portage, Joe A. Ross and Hapnot Collegiate. They played three round-robin games. First, the Kweens beat Norway House 25-14 and 25-11. In the second game, they beat Cranberry Portage 25-11 and 25-14. The third game saw them beat The pas 25-15 before they lost 10-25. A small glitch in the system. The ended up with first place after the round robin games. They played two play-off games. Firs game saw the Kweens beat Cranberry Portage 25-16 and 25-10. In the final game, they beat The Pas 25-14 and 25-18. The Kweens have 11 players on their roster with one injured, who will hopefully be returning in December. Each athlete had equal opportunity to play in each set and showed their opponents how hard work and team work pays off. The Kweens were able to show the zone their quality volleyball skills and represented Flin Flon in a very positive and sportsmanlike manner. The Kweens have already played in two tournaments, one in Portage La Prairie and the other in Swan River.
