The Hapnot Kopper Kweens won the pre-zone volleyball tournament in Cross Lake, MB, last weekend. There were seven teams representing Zone 11. Cross Lake, Norway House, Thompson, The Pas, Cranberry, Joe A. Ross and the Hapnot Kweens were on hand to play. They played three round-robin games. First, the Kweens beat Norway House 25-14 and 25-11. The second game, they beat Cranberry 25-11 and 25-14. The third game had the Kweens take on The Pas and beat them 25-15 and then lost 10-25. A small glitch in the system, but they ended up with first place after the round-robin games. They played two playoff games. First game had the Kweens beat Cranberry 25-16 and 25-10. The final game had Flin Flon beating The Pas 25-14 and 25-18. Getting to know the team The Kweens have 11 players on the roster with one injured player Ð who will hopefully be returning in December. Each athlete had equal opportunity to play in each set and showed their opponents how hard works and team work pays off. The Kweens were able to show the zone their quality volleyball skills and represented Flin Flin in a very positive manner. The Kweens have already played in two tournaments with one in Portage La Prairie and the second in Swan River. The coming weekend, the Kweens and Kings will be traveling to Brandon to play the next tournament. This yearÕs zone tournament will be held in The Pas on November 14-15..
