Kodiaks to host first volleyball tourney

The Creighton Kodiaks will open up their volleyball season this weekend as they host the first tournament of the school year. The girls and boys teams will welcome their opponents to the Creighton Community School gymnasium, today and tomorrow.

Five female teams will compete, as the Kodiaks will face Frontier Collegiate for their first matchup.

Joining the Kodiaks and Frontier Collegiate will be teams from Churchill, Sandy Bay and Sturgeon Lake.

For the boys, Tisdale, Sturgeon Lake and Frontier Collegiate will join the Kodiaks on the court.

Both the girls and boys teams will start their weekend action with matchups against Frontier Collegiate today at 2 pm.

Games will continue today until 8:45 pm and start again tomorrow at 9 am.

The boys will start their semi-final action at 1:45 tomorrow with first and fourth place playing for a spot in the finals.

The third and second place teams will play for the remaining spot. The third place game will be played at 4:45 with the boys’ final at 7 pm.

For the girls, the game to determine third place will be played at 3:45 with the third- and fourth-place teams.

The girls’ final, with the first and second place teams, will be played at 6 pm.
