The Flin Flon Kinsmen Bantam 'AA' Bombers travelled to Snow Lake on January 8 for a pair of exhibition games against the Thompson King Miner Bantam 'AA' and The Pas Huskies Bantam 'AA'. In the first game, the Bombers took on the Thompson King Miners in their first meeting of the season. The score was 1-0 Bombers after 20 minutes of play on a goal by Lloyd Highway assisted by Tanner Korchinski. In the second period, the Bombers were somewhat flat footed and Thompson jumped out to a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes. In the final frame, the Bombers found their legs, and their conditioning proved to be the difference as they scored three unanswered goals to take a 4-2 decision. Scoring for the Bombers were Lloyd Highway, unassisted, Ryan Fox with the game winner assisted by Jordan Crone, and Tanner Korchinski unassisted. The Bombers took a short break and then went out to face The Pas Huskies for their second game of the morning. Both teams started strongly with Flin Flon taking a 3-2 lead into the dressing room after 20 minutes. The teams exchanged goals in the second period, and it was the Bombers scoring two unanswered goals in the third to come away with a 6-3 victory. See 'Scoring' P.# Con't from P.# Scoring for the Bombers were Tanner Korchinski with two goals and an assist with singles going to Lyle Leclair, Calvin Cairns, Jordan Crone and Aaron Bauman. Ryan Fox had two assists while Wesley Gawiak and Landon Rowe each had one helper. Once again the superior conditioning of the Bombers paid off in the late going, as they were all over The Pas in the final frame of the game. The two game exhibition series was a warm up for The Pas tournament to be held the following weekend. A report on that tournament will be published shortly.
