The Kindersley Klippers have announced the resignation of head coach/director of hockey operations Dave Hunchak. "We would like to wish Dave and his family the best in their future endeavors and would like to thank him for his contributions to the success of our organization both on the ice and within our community." Hunchak led the Klippers through the SJHL Playoffs, earning Kindersley a League Championship, an Anavet Cup and a berth at the Royal Bank Cup in Grande Prairie, Alberta in May. Kindersley erased a 3-1 series deficit against the Selkirk Steelers to win the Anavet Cup in seven games to advance to the Canadian Junior 'A' championships. After an 0-3 start in the round robin portion of the tournament, Kindersley defeated Nanaimo by a score of 4-2 to finish 1-3 and advance to the playoff round. In the semifinals, the Klippers defeated the host team 4-3 to advance to the Royal Bank Cup final, where they lost the gold medal game to Aurora 7-1. The Klippers are now in search of a Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations. The Humboldt Broncos are also in search of a head coach, after Bob Beatty left the Broncos to go to the La Ronge Ice Wolves.
