Twenty-three teams took part in the Flin Flon-Creighton Junior High Invitational Volleyball Tournament this past weekend with games held at McIsaac School Ecole McIsaac, Hapnot Collegiate and Creighton Community School. Teams participating were from The Pas, Cranberry, Cormorant, Flin Flon and Creighton. In the boys Junior High tournament, Grade 7 and 8, winners were as follows: 1st place: The Pas team 1 2nd place: McIsaac team 2 3rd place: Creighton team 1 4th place: Cranberry Many areas entered more than one team, numbering them team 1, team 2 and so on. The boys tournament was held at McIsaac School Ecole McIsaac with nine teams taking part. The Girls Junior High tournament had 10 teams paying at Creighton Community School. The standings were as follows: 1st place: McIsaac School Ecole McIsaac team 1 2nd place: Cranberry 3rd place: Ruth Betts 4th place: Creighton team 2 Hapnot Collegiate also hosted a tournament between two Hapnot teams and two teams from The Pas. The tournament was for girls in Grade 8 and 9. The standings were as follows: 1st place: Hapnot team 1 2nd place: The Pas team 2 3rd place: Hapnot team 2 Organizer John Belfry, with the school division, says the tournament was developed to play on proper sportsmanship and equal time play for each player. More than 270 kids graced the gym floors, taking on the teams in a round robin fashion.
