With the help of in motion, kids have their own day now, too. Monday, Nov. 20 was National Child's Day as kids aged one to five enjoyed games with music and healthy snacks. Frances Labarre, the community health developer for the NOR-MAN Regional Health Authority, said the focus was nutrition with Aboriginal Head Start and Kiddie Korner daycare the groups involved. It was held at the Flin Flon Community Hall 9:30 to 11 a.m. and had several starter set ups. Four-year-old Brett said he had a good time and enjoyed the circuit gym. He also liked the musical chairs and wants to come back again. Three-year-old Nicole also enjoyed herself as she enjoyed dancing with the ribbons. Oh, and she liked the snacks, too. "It went really well," said Katie Kawerski, an in motion member who chaired the event. "The kids are having a good time. It was awesome." About 20 kids attended the event and Kawerski said she expected about 10 more. Transportation for other daycares was the problem in helping attendance . "We have to deal with that," said Labarre, who feels the situation can be improved. "I expect lots more kids next year," she said, of the event they hope will become annual.
