CFAR 590's Million Dollar Hole in One competition has become an annual event to look forward to. Keenan Kennedy was this year's big winner as he was closest to the pin at 43'11' in the final shots. Kennedy along with Don Melien and Ed Paul ranked as the top three golfers at the end of the semifinals on Sunday. Each finalist had one shot to reach the pin at Creekside Park 162 yards away. Standing in presdesignated areas beside the bunk at Creekside, each golfer took their swing. Kennedy was left closest to the pin as he beat Melien in second place by just a foot and Paul in third place who was just over 79' from the pin. The $1,000,000 cash prize has never been won from Flin Flon. CFAR manager Dianne O'Brien had hoped 2013 would be the year. 'Sometimes I think I want it just as much as they do,' she said during the final shots of the competition as she waited and hoped she would give away the prize money. To claim the grand prize money a golfer needs to make a hole in one on the designated shot. But they didn't walk away empty-handed as prizes were given out to the top three golfers. A prize package of round trip airfare and hotel accommodations for two in Winnipeg was presented to Kennedy while Melien and Paul both received a golf package at Candle Lake Golf Resort and luggage. Leader Boards Last week, golfers of all ages and abilities made donations and contributions to the Tri Service clubs in this year's competition. Held at Foster Park, participants were given golf balls and a club _ though they were able to bring their own clubs if they so chose _ and gave it their best shot at a pin 95 yards away. Each day a leader board tracked the overall top 10 players of the day as well as the top 10 ladies and juniors. From there, the top 10 participants from each day were invited to the semifinals at Creekside Park on Sunday. The top golfers then each received three gold balls to reach the pin. The top three golfers _ later named as Kennedy, Melien, and Paul _ then played in the finals with one golf ball each.
