The Midwest North of 54 Karate Club held a 50/50 draw on Tuesday, May 24th. The winner of $711 was Brian Macdonald of Flin Flon. The public's support for our club in the draw is very much appreciated. We also appreciate the willingness of Canadian Tire, Co-Op, and Extra Foods for allowing the use of their store to sell tickets. Karate classes run from September to May, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. till 8 p.m. at the Creighton Community Hall. Karate teaches you self-defense, strong mind, flexibility and a cardiovascular workout. Kel Brown recently went to the Provincials competition in Winnipeg and came back with silver and bronze medals. Kel is now at the Nationals competition in Montreal, Quebec, representing Karate Manitoba. If anyone is interested in joining Karate, they can contact Kel Brown - President at (688-4137) or Ellen Richardson - Secretary/Treasurer and Neil Richardson - Vice President at (688-3638).
