The 2003 Kang's Tae Kwon Do Inter-Academy Games took place in Dauphin, Manitoba this past September and fun was had by all. Every year, these games are held in a different city so that each club throughout Kang's Academy has the opportunity to shine. Shine brightly is exactly what the Flin Flon club did. The day's events consisted of patterns, board breaking and sparring. Not all tournaments include the board breaking event therefore it is exciting for everyone to participate as well as watch. To break a board is a tremendous adrenaline rush! This particular tournament is especially fun due to the fact that everyone is from the same Academy only they come from different cities and provinces. This allows everyone from Kang's Academy to reconnect and have some fun. Nonetheless, the competitive edge remains strong throughout the athletes. Flin Flon Branch's youngest participant is 5 years young with our most mature member being in their 50s. This proves to you that this Martial Art is not only geared for youngsters. All ages are welcome. Flin Flon is always so well represented at these events. In all, four Gold, five Silver and six Bronze medals were won by our local participants. Our community has much to be proud of!
