The Selkirk Steelers granted forward Ryan Martens his wish and moved him to the Quesnel Millionaires of the BCHL on Wednesday. The Millionaires, who also added Carver Dowhan from Neepawa last week, now have two Manitobans playing under former Southeast Head Coach Jamie Leach. In return for Martens, Selkirk gets the rights to 6'1" defenseman Jesse Griffith and future considerations. Griffith had played in two exhibition games with Quesnel and registered one assist. Meanwhile, the Yorkton Terriers have announced the return of defenseman Dustin Dubas to their SJHL preseason roster. Dubas was cut from the Kamloops Blazers on Sunday, just prior to the intrasquad game. The Melville Millionaires have two key cogs in their blueline make-up back in the fold. Dedrick Klassen has been sent home from the Medicine Hat Tigers, and Shaun Heshka decided not to stick in Everett with the Silver Tips and will be reporting to Melville. The Humboldt Broncos finally completed a three way trade that will see forward Brad Toews play in Trail (BCHL). Mark Carberry goes to the Charlottetown Abbies (MAJHL) and the Broncos receive 20-year-old forward Jeff Furlong. Furlong is described by Head Coach Bob Beatty as a solid two-way player who contributed 48-points last season with the Abbies. Beatty is expecting Furlong to be a good skater and will play on the penalty kill. The Broncos also added 18-year-old agitator Kevin Duchaine from Drummondville (QMJHL). Duchaine is a spark plug, according to Beatty. The Broncos have a Quebec connection, thanks to former goaltender Mathieu Bonnelly.
