Special teams were the order of the day, as the teams combined for nine power-play goals and four short handed goals. There were a total of nine goals scored in the first period, ad when the dust had cleared, the score was 5-4 in favour of the Stars. Both teams changed goaltenders after 20 minutes of play. Brad Herauf had four goals and two assists for the Stars, and Kurt Bensmiller had two goals and four assists. Arland Eliason was back in action for the Stars, and picked up 30 minutes in penalties before being ejected for his second fight. The Stars scored six power-play goals on 11 chances, while the Broncos netted three goals on 12 chances. Humboldt now leads the best of seven series 3-1. In the MJHL, the OCN Blizzard have the Portage Terriers in a stranglehold after a 5- win on Sunday. The Terriers led 2-0 after the first period, but the Blizzard responded with two goals in the second period and three more in the third, including Aaron Starr's eighth of the playoffs into an empty net. OCN out shot Portage 37-27, and scored one power-play goal on five chances. The Terriers had two chances with the extra attacker, but failed to score on either of them. The Blizzard now lead the series 3-1. The Southeast Blades also lead their series 3-1 over the Winnipeg South Blues, after dumping them 6-1 on Sunday. Laddy Tresl had three goals and an assist for the Blades, who won despite being 0/10 on the power play.
