The Uptown Curling Club was host to a Bantam Spiel held on Saturday, December 6, 2003. Fifteen curlers came out to form 4 teams. It was a great day with great fun and awesome curling by these young people. On Ice D, the Broughton team consisting of Katherine Lane-Broughton, Jenna Rudd and Tanner Labine beat out the Davis team consisting of Taylor Davis, Jenna Klause, Justin Labine and Anndee McIntyre with a 6-0 win. On Ice E the Barron team consisting of Casandra Barron, Brennen Borchewski, Shandy Madden and Kyrra Kosar beat out the Burkholder team consisting of Kaley Burkholder, Jillian Storey, Kari Storey and Meagan Abele 5-3. The winners of these games went on to play the second round with the Barron team coming out on top over the Broughton team with a 4-3 win. In the other game, the Burkholder team won 5-3. The final game had the Barron and Burkholder teams playing a very exciting six ends The Barron team won with a 6-3 score. At the end of the day, all of these players had loads of fun and the parents had a pretty good time too! Congratulations to all the players.
