Is it Saturday yet?! CBC'S Hockey Night in Canada announces exciting new details for 2007-08 season. They include a brand new pre-game show Scotiabank Hockey Tonight, the AMP Energy NHL Winter Classic outdoor game, more games than ever in HD, and live and on-demand online video streaming of all games highlight upcoming season. Toronto, September 20 - Let the 2007-08 season begin! CBC'S Hockey Night In Canada continues to be the premier destination for hockey fans everywhere. This seasons schedule consists of 87 games - more games than ever before. Within the 87 games includes the following: 18 regional match ups 23 all-Canadian match ups 11 afternoon games seven triple headers Saturday night doubleheaders all season long the 26th season of the illustrious Coach's Corner starring Don Cherry the 2007 Hall of Fame Game the AMP NHL Winter Classic outdoor game the eighth annual CBC'S Hockey Day In Canada celebration and the 56th NHL All-Star Game, all capped off with the 2008 Stanley Cup Playoffs and exclusive coverage of the 2008 Stanley Cup Final. The 55th season of CBC'S Hockey Night In Canada kicks off Saturday, September 29 at 12 noon ET with the first game of the NHL's 90th anniversary season featuring the Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks taking on the Los Angeles Kings in London, England - the birthplace of the Stanley Cup. Host Ron MacLean will be joined by Cassie Campbell, and the newest member of the broadcast team, analyst Craig Simpson, at the CBC broadcast centre, while Jim Hughson and Greg Millen will hit the broadcast booth in England to call the game. The action continues on Thursday, October 4 with a special mid-week doubleheader beginning at 7 p.m. ET, as the Senators raise their 2007 Eastern Conference Championship banner to the rafters at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, followed by another chapter in the Battle of Ontario as they face off against the Toronto Maple Leafs. In the nightcap of the twin bill, the Flames host Philadelphia in Calgary at 10 p.m. ET. Beginning October 6, all Saturdays start at 6:30 p.m. ET with CBC'S Hockey Night In Canada's all-new Scotiabank Hockey Tonight pre-game show, hosted by MacLean. Scotiabank Hockey Tonight will feature two fresh segments, including Inside Hockey and Viewpoint. Inside Hockey will tell the stories of the people and places that shape the game of hockey, while Viewpoint, hosted by Scott Morrison, will provide news and information developing around the league that day, as well as from the previous week. Scotiabank Hockey Tonight Kids, a special promotion launching at cbcsports.ca/hockey on October 4, provides an exciting opportunity for minor hockey teams across the country to have the honour of welcoming viewers to CBC'S Hockey Night In Canada. Parents, coaches and children will be invited to submit why their team deserves to be the next "Scotiabank Hockey Tonight Kids" at cbcsports.ca/hockey. Winning teams will appear on the opening of Scotiabank Hockey Tonight all throughout the regular season, beginning November 17. Think Hockey, hosted by MacLean, returns to the pre-game show for the second season and will include a well-known hockey expert presenting a skill, tip, idea or piece of advice designed to help develop a more complete hockey player. The second of the two nightly Think Hockey episodes airs following Game One of the traditional Saturday night doubleheader. Following Scotiabank Hockey Tonight, CBC'S Hockey Night In Canada continues to own Saturday nights, with its first Saturday night doubleheader of the season. In Game One of the twin bill at 7 p.m. ET, the Leafs host the Montreal Canadiens in Toronto, while the New York Rangers take on the Senators in Ottawa. In the nightcap of the October 6 doubleheader, the Flames face off against the Vancouver Canucks in an all-Canadian western showdown at 10 p.m. ET. Throughout 2007-08, CBC'S Hockey Night In Canada will also have coverage of key games and events, including the 2007 Hall of Fame Game on Saturday, November 10 at 6:30 p.m. ET the AMP Energy NHL Winter Classic outdoor game from Ralph Wilson Stadium in Buffalo on January 1 the NHL Super Skills Competition on Saturday, January 26 at 6:30 p.m. ET the 56th NHL All-Star Game on Sunday, January 27 at 6 p.m. ET a special Sunday afternoon broadcast on February 3 at 2 p.m. ET CBC'S Hockey Night In Canada wraps up the regular season on Saturday, April 5, followed by the start of the 2008 Stanley Cup Playoffs on April 9.
