As of last week, 17 teams have registered and began fundraising for the Relay for Life. Returning to the Flin Flon area for the second time, the Relay for Life helps raise both money and awareness for the Canadian Cancer Society. Wednesday night will mark an Information Meeting and Bank Night for the teams registered. The 12-hour long event will see teams making their way around a designated track at the Creighton Ball Diamond. Team members will take turns to share the walking as they continue around the track. This week, teams will be submitting money raised so far for the Relay for Life. For this year's event, teams have sold cookbooks, held road races, and garage sales among other things. 2011 marked the first year for the Relay for Life in Flin Flon and teams hope to surpass the total raised at the first event. Volunteers and participants are welcome to join the local Relay for Life. Those looking to become involved are asked to contact Ashley Thompson for more information.
