Sunday is the final date to register for the Second Annual Spring Indoor Soccer Kickoff Tournament, that will take place at the Whitney Forum from April 30 to May 2. Last year's event was very successful, and the organizers are working hard to make this year's event another success. The goal of this event is to serve as a warm up for soccer season for kids ages 9-14. "Its an opportunity for the kids to get together and have a fun weekend with their friends while playing soccer, and get involved in physical activity," said Brenda Russell, City of Flin Flon Recreation Director. "Soccer is a sport of this year's MTS Norman Regional Summer Games, so this is a great opportunity to get some playing time in, as teams prepare for that. It's going to be a lot of fun, and we hope to see a good turn out." There is a limit to the number of participants due to time and facility restrictions. Those interested are encourage to register right away, as no late registrations will be accepted. The event is being organized by Flin Flon Parks and Recreation and the Norman Regional Summer Games Committee. An addition to this year's event is a dance for all the participants on the Saturday night. The dance price is included in the registration fee for participants. Non participants ages 9-14 are welcome to attend the dance by purchasing a ticket at the door. Everyone attending the dance will receive a door prize ticket. There will be raffles and penny parades at the tournament as well, so there are lots of opportunities to win some great prizes, put up by local sponsors. Volunteers are also needed for everything from coaching to reffing and registration.
