Kelly Carrington Staff Writer The La Ronge Ice Wolves blasted the Flin Flon Bombers away with a 10-2 win Tuesday night. With Flin Flon down 6-0 early in the second period, spectators began leaving the Whitney Forum while others stayed and cheered on the Bombers in hopes of seeing a goal. Devin Stillar scored the Bombers' first goal early in the third period. Their second came from Jesse Mychan late the final period. The Bombers just couldn't keep the ball going as the Ice Wolves powered down all game for the win. La Ronge started the scoring early with their first goal less than six minutes into the game. By the end of the first period, the Bombers were down 4-0. Starting the second period, Bombers head coach and GM Mike Reagan switched PJ Musico for Randy Graham. The Ice Wolves continued their domination with five goals in the second period. The third period, which gave the Bombers their two goals, had the Ice Wolves earning another two markers. Of La Ronge's 10 goals, four were power play goals and one was shorthanded. For the Bombers, Mychan's goal was on a power play According to the SJHL score sheet, the Bombers fired off 34 shots to the Ice Wolves' 46. Following Flin Flon's first goal, Ice Wolves coach Bob Beatty pulled Adam Bartko and replaced him with Myles Havedebo. Penalties were handed out left, right and centre. Chants from the crowd started requesting new referees or for the referees to watch the game. For the Bombers, 15 penalties were handed out, compared to the Ice Wolves' eight. Following Tuesday's game, the Bombers travelled to La Ronge tonight for revenge and to try and redeem themselves. Tomorrow night, the Bombers are in Humboldt for their third game of the month against the Broncos. And Sunday night, the Bombers will end their three-game road trip in Battleford to face the North Stars. Three days on the road will put the Bombers back at home to face the Nipawin Hawks on Tuesday. Next weekend, the bombers host the Notre Dame Hounds Friday night and the North Stars Saturday night to close out November.
