The 2004 Flin Flon Summer Hockey School will take place from August 9-14 and August 16-21. My staff and I are excited at continuing the growth that we have made over the past three years. Each year we look to improve on the previous years, allowing our participants the best opportunity to gain the proper skills and knowledge of the great game of hockey. This year we feel that with the growth of the school over the last three summers that it is time to make the step forward and offer two weeks of hockey school. We will be offering a more in-depth classroom discussion on hazing, hockey etiquette, fair play and on-ice conduct. Once again, we are offering three 45 minute goaltending sessions per week to participants that sign up for the regular program. We feel that last year's goaltending session was very successful and as good as any in the North. We are continuing to make great strides in this area as we feel that goaltending does not receive the attention that it needs. Each week the school will offer a full-day package to participants between 6-15 years, which includes 2.5 hours of ice time daily, a dry land session and a classroom session. For players between 12-15 years that wish to only take part in the on-ice sessions we offer a one hour and 15 minute session daily. For players that wish to get ready for upcoming tryouts in midget, junior, college or pro hockey we offer conditioning camp. A discount will be offered for those who attend both weeks. Look for brochures to be sent out by early June. For further information, please call 687-4487.4/30/2004
