Mark Saturday, Oct. 8 on your calendar as CBC's HNIC begins at 7 p.m. ET with back-to-back games. The broadcast schedule for the 2005/06 season includes two games every Saturday night, the sixth annual Hockey Day in Canada celebration, the NHL Playoffs and exclusive coverage of the Stanley Cup Final. CBC's Hockey Day in Canada, airing Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, will once again take viewers on a journey across Canada to commemorate hockey's special place in our communities.Ê Headlining CBC's Hockey Day in Canada line-up is the traditional NHL triple-header with games starting at 2 p.m. ET, 7 p.m. ET and 10 p.m. ET. In the tradition of covering world-class sporting events, CBC Sports is proud to be the host broadcaster for hockey at Torino 2006 Ð The Olympic Games.Ê The men's ice hockey tournament at Turin takes place from Feb. 15 Ð 26 and will feature cream of the crop players from the NHL and the top 12 hockey nations.Ê ÊTorino 2006 marks the third consecutive Olympic Games participation by NHL players. On April 21, 2006, the 2006 NHL Playoffs begin.Ê CBC'S Hockey Night in Canada will offer viewers full coverage of all the Canadian teams' games and exclusive Canadian coverage of one of the most popular and thrilling events of the year, the Stanley Cup Final.
