The Flin Flon Midget 'AA' Bombers held a couple of weekend tilts with the Tisdale Ramblers Saturday, February 26 and Sunday, February 27. They were two high scoring affairs and here are the results: 5 p.m. Saturday, Whitney Forum - Tisdale 8, Flin Flon 5 This game would start quick for Tisdale as they would get a powerplay goal 4:35 in and follow that up with another 30 seconds later to take an early 2-0 lead. Pruden would get the Bombers to within one with a powerplay goal at 12:27 (assists Rice, Danis). Tisdale would regain the two goal lead with a goal 15:31 into the first. The score was 3-1 after one. The first ten minutes of the second was the best hockey the boys would play on this night. Kiley Spiller got things going ten seconds into the period (assist Wintoneak, Pruden). See 'Tisdale' P.# Con't from P.# John Jacobson would tie the game with 2:28 gone and then the Bombers would take their only lead of the weekend with a goal from Matt Kritzer (assist Rice, Pegg). Then the wheels would fall off as Tisdale roared back with four unanswered goals to take an 7-4 lead after two. The Bombers tried to climb back into the game in the third with a goal from Mike Phair at 3:47 but that's as close as they would get as Tisdale finished the scoring at 13:10 with a powerplay goal. Shots on goal favoured Tisdale 41-32 and they went 2/5 on the powerplay as the Bombers went 1/4. Game star was Kiley Spiller. 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Sportex - Tisdale 10, Flin Flon 6 This game would see Tisdale get six goals in the second period and cruise to a 10-6 victory. This game saw a hard fought first period ending with Tisdale ahead 2-1. Ford would get the Bomber goal with an assist to Wintoneak. The second period saw six Tisdale goals along with four Flin Flon goals. Wintoneak scored on the powerplay with a beauty streaking down the left side deking the goalie out. Wintoneak would score again 8:40 (assists Phair, Bear). Bear would get his first of the year from Pegg and Kritzer with 1:49 left in the second and then Norman would score 23 seconds later, (assist Danis). The score was 8-5 after two. The third period was much tighter as the team exchanged goals. Kritzer would get the lone goal for the Bombers on the powerplay. Tisdale outshot the Bombers 38-31 and went 1/6 on the powerplay. Bombers went 3/5. Game star was Walker Wintoneak with a three point night. A very talented core of players from Tisdale were a bit much for our Bombers on this weekend. Their transition game was pretty to watch as a Bomber pinch usually turned into a three on one. Our boys got the forecheck and hitting going at times but couldn't sustain it for any length of time. I want to thank the fans for coming out. Both games were very well attended. A very successful raffle table and 50/50 draws helped us with costs. There are no fans like Bomber fans.
