Saskatchewan Roughrider Mike Abou-Mechrek is committed to making a difference in the battle against breast cancer and now he is asking for your help. Currently, there are autographed items up for auction on the offensive linemanÕs website www.abou67.com. Proceeds raised through the auction will be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. DonÕt forget that the Run for the Cure is also coming up on Sunday, October 5 and Mike and his teammates invite all of Rider Nation to take part. The following are a few facts about CIBCÕs Run For The Cure: 2008 is the 17th annual Run, and on Sunday, October 5, 2008, Canadians in 55 communities from Victoria, British Columbia to St. JohnÕs, Newfoundland will participate by walking or running either one or five kilometres. The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure is an inspirational community event in which Canadians of all ages and abilities can easily participate. The Run is the largest single-day, volunteer-led fundraising event in Canada dedicated to breast cancer research and support. More than one million people have participated in the Run since it first took place in Toronto in 1992. Last year, 170,000 participants walked or ran to raise more than $27 million nationally for breast cancer research, education and awareness programs.
