Kelly Carrington Staff Writer The Flin Flon Bombers and Nipawin Hawks were tied at two games apiece in the North semifinal following Tuesday night's game. Game 5 was scheduled for Nipawin last night, after The Reminder went to press. On Tuesday, the Hawks outplayed the Bombers in the first period to gain the lead and kept the momentum in their favour with a 4-3 win. The Bombers were down 2-0 at the end of the first. The second period saw the Bombers pick up two markers, with the Hawks' additional goal making it a 3-2 hockey game. In the third, both the Bombers and Hawks found the back of the net once to make it a 4-3 game. Flin Flon goaltender Devin Buffalo stopped 28 of 32 shots between the pipes as the Bombers hosted the Hawks in Game 4 of the best-of-seven series. Outshot The Bombers outshot the Hawks by six as goaltender Davis Jones stopped 35 of Flin Flon's 38 shots. The night before, the Bombers were on fire in the third period as they earned four goals against the Hawks to make it a 7-2 game. Monday night's win gave the Bombers a 2-1 lead in the series. But Tuesday night, the Bombers were outplayed in the first period and part of the second. Once they found their game, they fired off two goals, but the Hawks kept the lead. The third period had the Maroon and White fighting for a 3-1 series lead. Instead, the night ended with a brand new series heading back to Nipawin last night. The Bombers will host Game 6 tomorrow. If necessary, Game 7 will go Tuesday in Nipawin. Tuesday saw markers from Jason Wark as he lit the lantern first for the Bombers at 8:02 of the second period. Assists went to Greg Wiwcharuk and Spencer Mault. In the same period, Landon Hiebert picked up the team's second goal at 17:57 with help from Mault and Cam Blair. The third period saw Mault earn the team's third goal with help from Wark and Riley Storzuk at 9:09. In the third period, the Hawks scored their final goal at 2:24. The Bombers had chances to send the game into overtime but couldn't capitalize. Flin Flon handed off 12 shots to Jones in the third, with 11 of them denied. Both teams had four power play opportunities, but neither capitalized.
