The Hapnot Kopper Kings are on a hot winning streak after earning their fourth consecutive basketball banner for Zone 11.
Following an undefeated round-robin series in the Thompson tournament last weekend, the Kings went on to down The Pas’s MBCI Spartans 48-33 for the zone title.
The Kings are now preparing for the Manitoba High School Athletics Association provincials in Morden next week.
Heading into Thompson, the Kings were ranked eighth in the province.
“The boys played extremely well at zones,” said proud coach Don Dyke.
The Kings defeated The Pas 62-51 in their first game, Thompson by one basket in their second game and then Cross Lake with their biggest upset of 83-50.
The Kings are now practicing and waiting to see where they rank for next week’s tournament.
