Hapnot Collegiate hosted this yearÕs MHSAA Varsity Boys and Girls Basketball Tournament as teams from Flin Flon, MBCI, RDPC and ONR competed for the gold. And it was once again Hapnot in the lead, for both the boys and the girls. The finals saw the Hapnot guys take on RDPC and come out on top with a close score of 48-41. The girls were in the finals as well as they challenged Thompson and kept the title in their own gym as they won 63-40. Leading up to the finals, Hapnot took on MBCI for a win of 68-39. RDPC took their win over ONR with a score of 93-44 and another win over MBCI with 69-50. Hapnot took on ONR as well and came out on top 80-70, but lost against RDPC 51-28. MBCI overtook ONR 94-68 for the guys as well. For the girls, Hapnot was up 75-29 over MBCI and it was RDPC who beat MBCI as well 79-45. Both the Hapnot Kings and Kweens will be heading to Provincials, which will be in Dauphin March 13-15, in hopes of bringing home another gold.
