The Hapnot Kweens went undefeated in the Zone 11 championship play-off in Thompson last weekend. The Kweens took 'top prize' and brought home the zone banner for the 3rd consecutive year. During the round robin play, the Kweens came into contact with Cross Lake, Thompson and The Pas. The semifinal was a 1 vs 4 game where the Kweens took both sets 25-10. The final was against Thompson when the Kweens won both sets with scores of 28-26 and 25-17. The road now leads to Provincials in Winnipeg. The tournament runs for three days taking place the weekend of November 27. The games will be played at both the University of Winnipeg and Ballmoral School. There will be round robin games where the top four teams from Pool A and Pool B will advance to the semi and final games. Hapnot will be competing against the the best AAA school in Manitoba. Sanford, Virden, Linden Christian, University of Winnipeg, Dauphin, College Beliveau and Westgate are some of the teams the Kweens could be up against. The Kweens have played or watched a number of these teams already in past tournaments in Portage and Brandon. It is always exciting getting to play such quality teams. To see the dedicated players and coaches is very impressive. School divisions of these teams should really take a serious look at the success of the school team and appreciate and understand why they are winners. Making up the team this year are the following students: Sarah Petalik Jaycee Halpin Brandi Hanna Jamie Fleuty Celine Leclair Danielle Lam Caitlyn Davidson Samantha Breedon Maggie Ryan Coach Gord Halpin Coach Cathy Davidson
