The athletes of Hapnot Collegiate gathered in their Rome-inspired decorated gym for the annual Hapnot Athletic Awards. Laughs could be heard throughout the school as gym teachers Rob Abbott and Mike Nychuk emceed the event last Thursday. Once meals were finished, to continue with the Rome theme, lions were brought to ÒplayÓ in the lion's den. As coaches made their way to the stage to make their speeches, they were warned that the lions would attack if they went over the allotted time limit. The audience watched a 20 minute presentation on pictures from various sports teams before they got to the main event.
