Tim Conway entertained people and made them laugh with his Dorf on Golf. Brad Ewart is a trick shot artist who intends to do his own entertaining when he comes to the Phantom Lake Golf Course on July 22. Flin Flon Parks and Recreation, with the help of other organizations, were able to bring Ewart to the area. Brenda Russell, director of Parks and Recreation for Flin Flon, said this is for anyone. She contacted Ewart when trying to decide on something to provide for youths. "Golf is a lifetime sport," said Russell. "Getting kids interested at an early age is good. Bringing him and showing the fun side gives an added incentive for both golfers and non-golfers." Ewart, who is from Vancouver, said he is looking forward to coming and returning to Manitoba as his mother is from Winnipeg. When Ewart does his act, he intends to impress his audience. "People will probably appreciate what I'm gonna do," Ewart said. According to the trick shot artist/golf professional/ journalist and TVÐradio host, he leaves people scratching their heads. "I have a bag of tricks Ð about 30," he said. The 50-year-old father of two has traveled the globe entertaining regular people to country leaders. He also played in the Asian PGA tour for two years. When it comes to performing, Ewart said he likes to see people's reaction because it's always enjoyable. "People try it themselves," he said, but he won't reveal how he does it. When asked how long it took to be able to pull off his shots, he said "it all comes from a misspent youth." "Entertainment on the links is what it's all about," Ewart added. He won't just perform, he will also give clinics. On July 22 there will be a junior clinic for ages seven to 19 from 12 to 1 p.m. At 2 p.m. there will be a nine-hole tournament with registration taking place at the pro shop. The following day, there will be another junior clinic from 10 to 11 a.m.6/23/2006
