The Regional Finals for the Manitoba Summer Games are being held in Flin Flon and The Pas, June 4-6. The following is a list of questions that have been frequently asked about these games and previous games. 1 - What is Manitoba's largest ongoing multi-sport event? The Manitoba Games. 2 - What are the Manitoba Summer Games? They are for Manitobans who love to participate in sport. The Games Program is designed to encourage participation at the grass roots level, and includes ages from 10-99. The Games are for you to take part in your home region in your chosen sport from a list of 11 sports. 3 - What are the Norman Regional Summer Games? The Regional Games are the first stage of the Games Program, and are hosted in communities in the seven regions of Manitoba, with winners advancing to the second stage of the Games program. The second stage is the Manitoba Games Provincial Finals. 4 - Where are the 2004 MTS Norman Regional Summer Games? Flin Flon and The Pas. 5 - When are the Norman Regional Summer Games? June 4, 5 and 6. 6 - Where are the 2004 Manitoba Games Provincial Finals? Dauphin. 7 - When are the 2004 Manitoba Games Provincial Finals? August 11-15, 2004. 8 - How do I participate? There are individual and team sports being offered. Enter as an individual, enter as a team, take up a new sport or form a new team in your community. Contact the games coordinator at 681-7542 for further information on available sports. Girls born in 1992 or later can call Tim at 687-0469 to register for softball. 9 - How do I register? Local athletes registration night is Thursday, May 13, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. at the recreation office of the Flin Flon Community Centre. 10 - Why should I participate in the Games? The Games are so much fun - the socializing, the friendship, the physical activity, the true spirit of competition . . . the memories . . . The Games are an experience you will never forget! Right here in your hometown, in front of your family and friends! 11 - Where do I call to volunteer? As a volunteer, you will experience the same great memories of the Games as the Athletes, and also know you played a key role in helping to put on such a successful event.
