Submitted by SJHL The 2010 CJHL Prospects Game was held Tuesday and Wednesday in Dauphin as 40 eligible Junior "A" players in Canada got together. Team West is composed of players from the CJHL's five western leagues, which include the British Columbia Hockey League, Alberta Junior Hockey League, Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, Manitoba Junior Hockey League and Superior International Junior Hockey League. Four players on Team West are from the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. They are Humboldt Broncos defenceman Josh Roach, Battlefords Stars defenceman Brody Luhning, Battlefords Stars forward Kyle Hall and Melville Millionaires forward Lucas Froese. Josh Roach (1992-Saskatoon, SK) is tied for the lead in SJHL scoring amongst defencemen with seven goals and 20 assists in 30 games for the Broncos. It was expected he would be one of the team's core players as Humboldt gets ready to host the 2011 RBC Cup. Brody Luhning (1992-Lumsden, SK) has developed into one of the top young defencemen in the SJHL. Luhning is third in SJHL scoring amongst defencemen with eight goals and 15 assists for 23 points. Kyle Hall (1992-Assiniboia, SK) is one of many talented forwards playing for the Battlefords Stars, but he is under-rated because of the group he is with. Hall has 12 goals and five assists in 34 games for the Stars this season. Lucas Froese (1992-Grunthal, MB) came to Melville after starting the season with the Western Hockey League's Swift Current Broncos. He has 13 goals and 11 assists in 19 games for the Millionaires this season. The CJHL Prospects Game was created to showcase the top 40 NHL draft eligible players in the CJHL. The event included two games, total goal series between Team East and Team West, which is typically well attended by local hockey fans, NHL scouts, and representatives from Canadian and American colleges and universities.
