After finishing Grade 9 at Hapnot Collegiate, Brennon Madland picked up and moved to Saskatoon to further his soccer skills. The striker was told by more than one person he had incredible talent, so he moved away from home and tried to prove it to others. Now living with his Aunt in Saskatoon, Brennon plays for the Lakewood soccer club. Brennon says when it came to moving away from home, "some people didn't like it, but they do now." At the age of 15, Brennon decided to try out for the U16 boys soccer team, in Saskatoon. A source told The Reminder he wasn't sure he would make it, because he was just coming from Flin Flon and everyone else was known already. "The try-outs were hard," says a newly chosen team member for the team. But Brennon got a phone call two weeks ago, telling him he had made the team. "I am really excited about it," he says. The U16 team gets started in January, giving Brennon time to take a recent trip home and practice with the Hapnot Kopper Kings.
