The Flin Flon Bombers have announced former captain Dennis Kubat has agreed to attend St. Scholastica (NCAA Div III) in the fall on a scholarship. Kubat, one of the SJHLÕs top all around players, had 33 goals and 41 assists in 58 games this past season.Ê The 5Õ10Ó 185 lbs native of Outlook, SK scored 64 goals in 116 games over the final two years of his junior career.Ê He had 164 career points in 161 games.Ê As an 18-year-old rookie, he was a member of the Battlefords North Stars, but they traded him to Flin Flon in January of the 2005-06 season. St. Scholastica, based Êin Duluth MN, plays in the NCHA. Meanwhile, graduating forward David Linsley has worked out an agreement with the Saskatchewan Huskies of the CIS. Linsley, who played with Seattle and Spokane in the WHL from 2004-05 until 2006-07, had 12 goals and 27 assists in 58 games with Flin Flon this past year. The Bombers are also, actively, on the recruiting path for 2008-09 and would like to announce theyÕve received a commitment from 1990 born defenseman Tanner Korchinski. The Flin Flon native had 12 goals and 30 assists in 40 games for the Norman North Stars (Manitoba Midget AAA Hockey League). ÒTanner is a smooth skater with real good skill.Ê He moves the puck well and I think heÕll developÊinto a pretty good offensive player,Ó said head coach Mike Reagan.
