Former Flin Flon Bomber forward Chris Rauckman is making waves in hockey – though not in the way fans might expect.

Rauckman, 22, played for Team Canada at this year’s IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship. He played against former NHLers and other professionals who traded their skate blades for wheels.

He played in his third Inline Hockey World Championship, having first suited up as a teenager before joining the Bombers.

After five games for Team Canada, Rauckman was tied for top spot in team scoring, with five goals and nine points.

Canada finished 2-3 and was eliminated in the quarter-finals. Rauckman was named the team’s best player in an 8-2 loss to the American team.

In 2014-15, his lone season with the Bombers, Rauckman scored 39 goals and 64 points in 56 games.

Rauckman still plays the more conventional version of hockey, suiting up for the Lacombe Generals in the Alberta senior hockey ranks.
