Former Flin Flon Bomber goaltender Andy Desautels has been sent to the West Kelowna Warriors for the upcoming season. Just before their first exhibition game of the season, the Warriors picked up the rights to the netminder from the Bombers for future considerations. The Maroon and White also picked up a player in the trade, but have yet to release his name. During the 2012-13 season, Desautels played for the Prince Albert Raiders in the WHL, but his rights remained with the Bombers. In the 584 minutes played between the pipes for the Raiders he made 269 saves with two wins, seven losses, and one tie on his record. The goaltender ended the season with a 0.873 save percentage and a 4.01 goals-against average. In the 2011-12 season, when he dressed for the Bombers, Desautels played 1,350 minutes with 10 wins, 10 losses, and one tie. He made 712 saves for the Bombers that season and held a 0.897 save percentage along with a 3.64 goals against average. Desautels, 19, will now dress for the Warriors. 'He's a veteran goalie with a great reputation,' Warrior head coach and GM Rylan Ferster told the Island Sports News. The BCHL team started its preseason Sunday with a home game against the Penticton Vees.
