Flin Flonner Lee Fisher was inducted into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame last month. Prior to moving to Flin Flon, Fisher played for four years for Roland in the Man-Sask League. Fisher played for 11 seasons in Flin Flon as a pitcher. He led the Flin Flon Centrals to the 1957 Polar League crown with his 5-1 record. The following year, Fisher tied for the league home run lead. The Flin Flon Centrals repeated as champions. Fisher, along with the other inductees, made up the 15th induction class for the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony took place on October 19 in Winnipeg. Fisher was unable to attend. Along with Fisher, Corey Koskie was inducted into the Hall. Koskie played in the majors for nine seasons. Andy Bohem, Doug Hamm, Scott Kwasnitza and Bill Whitehead were on hand for the announcement. Bohem was inducted for his 22 seasons of senior ball. Sixteen of those years, Bohem played for the Manitoba Senior Baseball League. Hamm found himself on the list after leading the Morden Mohawks to 13 Border League championships and made the all-star team 15 times. Kwasnitza earned his induction with his all-star selections in minor, junior and senior ball. Whitehead, a centrefielder, starred for both the junior and senior Carman Goldeyes for 19 years. As well, Lloyd Hemminger, Mel Johnston and Tom Pearce represented the Kaleida teams that won four Border league titles in four years. Those players will be inducted in the small community category.
