The Whitney Forum and the Creighton Sportex were busy for the weekend of February 8 as the Flin Flon Peewee AA & A Hockey Tournament was in town. Teams from Flin Flon, The Pas, Swan River, Thompson, Dauphin, OCN, Cross Lake, Gillam and Snow Lake graced the ice in hopes of taking home the first place trophy. For both the AA and the A divisions, teams were unable to snatch the trophy away from home ice as the Flin Flon Bombers pulled through in both divisions for the win. On the AA side, for the Feszczyn Cup, it was The Pas and Dauphin battling it out for the Bronze, which went to The Pas with a 4-2 win. And it was Flin Flon who overtook Thompson 3-1 for the Gold. The A division saw Gillam beat Snow Lake 15-3 in the 4th place cup. And it was OCN who overtook Swan River for third place with a 5-4 win. The second place position had Cross Lake take the win 1-0 in overtime over Thompson. The gold cup game, for the Subway Cup, saw Flin Flon shutout The Pas 5-0 for the win.
