The Kinsmen Club of Flin Flon were one of eight clubs across Canada to receive recognition for their community work for Cystic Fibrosis. Cystic Fibrosis Canada has recognized eight Kin Canada clubs at Kin Canada's National Convention with a Bill Skelly Award to honour their ongoing passion and perseverance in the fight against cystic fibrosis through their fundraising events in 2012/13. The Bill Skelly Award is a national annual program that recognizes outstanding Kin events across the country that raise awareness and funds for Cystic Fibrosis Canada. 'Every year, our dedicated partner Kin Canada, bands together across Canada to raise the crucial funding needed to help Canadians living with cystic fibrosis live longer, healthier lives,' said Maureen Adamson, President and CEO of Cystic Fibrosis Canada. 'The Bill Skelly Award recognizes some of these incredible events organized by Kin Canada that help to advance the fight against cystic fibrosis.' The award is named after William Skelly, a Kinsman who initiated the partnership between Kin Canada and Cystic Fibrosis Canada in 1964. This annual award is open to all Kinsmen, Kinette, and Kin clubs from across Canada. Only one club is awarded for their event submission from each of the eight Kin Canada districts per year.
