The streak continues as the Flin Flon Bombers dropped a pair of road dates to start their four-game swing before the Christmas break, making it six losses in a row.

On Wednesday night, the Bombers were in Humboldt to take on the Broncos, who were on a nine-game winless streak of their own.

With a 2-1 lead, Flin Flon appeared to be in control after 40 minutes of play, but the wheels fell off early in the third period.

Trevor Posch tied the game 20 seconds after the faceoff to start the third period, and Greg Moro scored 1:26 later.

By the time the team settled down, the Bombers found themselves down 3-2, and that is how this one would end.

Joel Kocer and Tanner Lishchynsky each had power play goals for the Bombers, who were 2-5 on the night.

Shots on net were 37-26 for the Bombers, but Brock Hamm outduelled Simon Hofley to earn the win.

On Tuesday night, Flin Flon got an early goal from Chris Rauckman, but unfortunately that was all they could muster, and the La Ronge Ice Wolves skated to a 2-1 shootout victory.

Hofley was also in net for that game, stopping 31 shots through regulation and overtime but allowing two goals in three rounds of the shootout. He was named the game’s third star.

La Ronge netminder Kris Joyce was the first star, allowing just the one goal on 35 shots.

The Bombers have yet to win a game in December. They will have two more chances this weekend as they close out both the road trip and the calendar year with games against the Battleford Stars tonight and tomorrow.

The Stars haven’t played since Sunday, when they beat the Humboldt Broncos 5-2. They sit in third place in the Kramer Division with 40 points, while the Bombers third in the Sherwood Division with 39 points.

After this weekend, the players will go home for a break. They will return to action with a game in Flin Flon on Jan. 4 against Humboldt.
