Flin Flon Bombers blueliner Tyler Bell has committed to the University of Regina Cougars men’s hockey team for the 2015-16 season.
Bell, 21, aged out of the SJHL after playing 39 games with the Bombers this past season, earning 10 goals and 12 assists for 22 points.
Indicative of his style of play, Bell also racked up 115 penalty minutes.
In the playoffs, Bell added one goal, three assists and eight penalty minutes in seven games.
Bell came to the Bombers after being released by the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the WHL, who had brought him in to add depth and leadership to the blueline.
After Tanner Lischynsky left Fin Flon to join the Kootenay Ice of the WHL, Bell stepped up his play.
Bell was twice the IBAS SJHL Defenceman of the Week and was also the Sherwood Division’s nominee for the IBAS SJHL Defenceman of the Year award.
He also served as Flin Flon’s assistant captain.
Bell will join Flin Flon native and former Bomber Dillon McCombie with the Cougars this season.
The University of Regina Cougars play in the Canada West conference of the CIS.
