The newest member of the Flin Flon Bombers brings ample experience and something of a scoring touch to the maroon and white.
Mitch Foyle, 19, arrives from the Millionaires to complete the trade that sent Brett Kitt to Melville earlier this season.
“We’re really happy to acquire Mitch,” said Bombers head coach and general manager Mike Reagan, who announced the trade Thursday morning. “We’re really happy to acquire a 19 year old with a lot of junior hockey experience.”
Foyle has played Junior hockey since he was 16. Between 2011-12 and 2013-14, he played 61 games for the Junior “A” Trail Smoke Eaters of the BCHL. He had 14 points (7G, 7A) and 24 penalty minutes.
In two seasons with the Beaver Valley Nitehawks, a Junior “B” team in BC, Foyle garnered 84 points (43G, 41A) and 97 penalty minutes in 102 games.
This season with Melville, the 5-ft-11-in, 180-lb winger has 12 points (6G, 6A) and 60 penalty minutes in 24 games.
Reagan hoped to have Foyle in the line-up last night when the Bombers hosted the Estevan Bruins. Game results were unavailable at press time.
As for Brett Kitt, 19, he garnered 11 points (3G, 8A) in 22 games with Melville before being traded to the Melfort Mustangs.
