For the first time in many years, the Flin Flon Aqua Jets swim club hosted a swim camp at the Flin Flon Aqua Centre for their Pre-Competitive and Competitive Swim members.

Fourteen swimmers took part in the recent two-day camp, led by coach Jeff Toth, head coach and owner of the Flatland Swimming Club in Regina.

The camp focused on the swimmers’ skill development in the water and strength training on dry land, and provided development opportunity for the Aqua Jets coaching team.

Coach Toth had this to say about the camp and club: “After spending two full days with the Aqua Jets I am convinced that this young team will be doing some very exciting things in the water very soon. Both the young executive and the coaches are eager and enthusiastic to grow this team and provide the proper aquatic education and experience young swimmers need. We had a great time in Flin Flon and will be very happy to do whatever we can to help this team be successful.”

The executive of the Aqua Jets also participated in the camp and received coaching and education from Jeff’s wife, Sara. Sara educated the executive on policy and procedure development, strategic planning and team expansion.

The camp was a positive experience for swimmers and executive alike, and the Aqua Jets look forward to a continuing relationship with Jeff and Sara.

The Aqua Jets have just begun their 2015-16 season.

New swimmers are invited to take part in a two-week trial of the program. New swimmers are welcome to attend a practice Monday, Wednesday and/or Fridays from 4:30 to 6 pm effective Sept. 18.

Coaches will be on hand to answer any questions new swimmers and parents may have.
