The Flin Flon Aqua Jets travelled to The Pas on November 13, 2004 to participate in the Road Runners Invitational Swim Meet. Teams from The Pas, Flin Flon, Thompson, and Dauphin were there. Sixteen swimmers from Flin Flon travelled to The Pas. All of the Aqua Jets were able to achieve personal best times for the majority of their swims. Medals were given out to the pre-competitive swimmers and ribbons for the competitive swimmers who placed 1st Ð 6th in their age group. The Aqua Jets that participated are as follows: Dakotah Cable, Gregor Dayman, Olivia Dayman, Athea Fernandes, Kyle Harrower, Ben Kinsley, Sam Kinsley, Lucas LeClair, Joanne Mack, Terri-Lynn Mack, Kaitlyn Pierone, Rhianne Rodnisky, Maggie Ryan, Kristian Sattelberger, Keenan Sattelberger and Eric Todoschuk. The events that they participated in were: 25 Free 50 Free 100 Free 200 Free 400 Free 25 Back 50 Back 100 Back 25 Breast 50 Breast 100 Breast 200 Breast 25 Butterfly 50 Butterfly 100 IM 200 IM On January 8, 2005 six swimmers participated at the Thompson Northern Torpedo's Invitational Swim Meet. Maggie Ryan won the High Points trophy for the 10 and under female age group. The other swimmers achieved personal bests in a majority of their swims. Those who travelled to Thompson are Christy Bailey, Nikki-Rae MacFie, Kaitlyn Pierone, Maggie Ryan, Kristian Sattelberger, and Eric Todoschuk. The Flin Flon Aqua Jets offers a pre-competitive program called "I Can Swim" and there is always room for new swimmers. This program runs Mondays and Wednesdays 4:30-5:30 p.m. or 5:30-6:30 p.m. Swimmers learn the proper stroke techniques, diving, endurance as well as an introduction to the rules of competitive swimming. Eligible swimmers must be able to swim at least 25 metres of front crawl without stopping and be comfortable in deep water. For more information call Heather at 681-7541.
