In response to a heated discussion, taking place during the Flin Flon Bombers' annual general meeting on June 17th, the newly reformed Bomber Board of Directors, lead by incoming president, Richard French, is set to unveil a new "Flex-Pack" campaign. Starting on July 1, fans of the storied franchise can purchase 14-game packages. The first sizable motion by the board comes on the heels of a debate sparked by HBMS shift workers, who have concerns of not being able to attend a certain amount of home games, while supporting the club through the season ticket campaign. "We realize shift workers can't make every game during the season," said new Bomber Board of Directors President, Richard French. "We appreciate those who work hard for their money, and we're just trying to make it easier by offering a second option to our season tickets." Prior to the AGM, the board was set to launch a new, numbered-ticket system for the 2009-2010 season, to prevent potential missed revenue from those who gave their tickets away to family and friends in bunches to attend a handful of games, evading gate sales. This was where shift-workers took issue. In seasons past, because of the less-structured formula for season ticket distribution, combined with the fact those who work a "four-on, four-off" shift simply cannot attend every home-game, many workers enjoyed using the extra tickets, treating others to a game at the end of the season. This however, was done at the expense of the community-run franchise, which was losing potential profit from people who didn't purchase tickets, but attained them second hand. "Concerned fans had the chance to speak up at the (annual general) meeting, and we've heard their opinions," said Bombers head coach and GM Mike Reagan. "Now, we're implementing what we feel is the best solution, given the circumstances, for everyone." "With this package, you're free to attend half the home games. It's not part of our numbered season-ticket system, and it's rush seating, which was another concern raised on June 17." said French, after the Bomber Board of Directors first meeting under the new management. "All of our games should be accessible to everyone in the area. We are very excited to see this new opportunity through, and we hope it will help max-out attendance for games during the upcoming season." Reagan spoke passionately at the board's meeting about the issue he feels should be about community support rather than of bickering over numbers. "Purchasing a ticket is more about supporting the club. We'd like to see our fans support Bombers' hockey, and this second ticket option will help us achieve our goals this season. "Everyone should buy a ticket to help see the product we put on the ice succeed. Obviously, we'd like to see less of unused tickets being given away," Reagan said. The Flin Flon Bombers' "Flex-Pack" ticket campaign will run throughout the month until July 31.
