With a group of three on hand, the Flin Flon Ski Club started their annual trail clean-up project Sunday. Dave Price, along with Larry Fancy and Susan Shairp, managed to clear away bush from the first 2.5 kilometres of the 27-kilometre trail. Price says it was a good growing season this past summer, "so things were fairly covered over." And, he adds, things were taller than usual, which he attributes also to the good growing season. "Things were really soggy out there too," he adds. "With the snow and the rain, we've had, it's made things quite wet out there." Price, along with other members of the Ski Club, will be clearing the rest of the trail this Sunday, and will be continuing until it's done. "We would have got a larger chunk done with more people, but we did a good job," he says. With the Terry Fox runs in Denare Beach and Flin Flon happening the same day, Price says he wouldn't be surprised if people just couldn't make it to both events. "But we hope to have a larger group next weekend," he says.
