Students and staff from Ruth Betts School are going to finish the job Terry Fox was unable to. From Thunder Bay, Ontario to Vancouver, B.C., walking or running, they will complete the 3,160 km journey. Teacher Rob Abbott has created a map that is attached to the wall of the gym showing where the journey will take them and how much they have accomplished. While doing this, the students will try to get five different pledges from family and friends to raise $1,000 to $1,500. "If we get to $1,500, I'll be happy," "Overall, I think they will be gung-ho," says Abbott. "They're excited with the map and are energized. The idea to do this came from Abbott, who went to Ontario for holidays with his family and seen things there about Terry Fox that inspired him.
