Attention figure skaters, it's time to dig out those skates from the attic and clean off the dust. The figure skating season in Creighton is fast approaching with registration taking place at the Creighton Sportex on September 9 and 10. "We're excited about registration and kids are looking forward to getting back on the ice," says Diakow. The new season begins October 12 as participants can look forward to events such as Family Skate, Mini-Olympics, Bring-a-Friend and the Carnival. Jill Diakow, president of the Creighton Figure Skating Club said there were 70 skaters last year and she's expecting the same numbers. During the season CanSkate will be on Monday and Wednesday at 5:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. respectively. CanPowerSkate will take place at 6:30 p.m on Monday for the younger kids and 7:30 p.m. for the older group on Tuesday.
