Seven members of the Flin Flon Skating Club will be heading down to Souris for the Manitoba StarSkate Championships this weekend. All seven skaters qualified by placing in the top three at the regional qualifier held earlier this year in The Pas. Six of the seven will be competing in the freeskate competition, while the seventh, Heather Bergin, will be participating in the triathlon event. Mikayla Gawiak will be competing in the preliminary (10 and under). Shilo Baribeau will be participating in the pre-preliminary (12 and over). Rikki Crone, Natasha Rothlander and Kara Rutley will all be entering preliminary (11 and over), while Annalee Stevens will be competing in the senior bronze category. Heather Bergin will be entered in the triathlon competition, which is a qualifying event for Nationals in Prince Edward Island. She will skate three times, competing in creative skills, freeskate and interpretive.
