The Johnny's 'AA' and Eddies 'A' Atom Tournament was held in Flin Flon and Creighton on January 16-18 with a total of 10 teams participating. In the Johnny's Atom 'AA' semifinals, The Pas advanced to the finals with a 2-1 overtime win over Swan River, and Thompson beat Flin Flon 5-2. In the bronze game, Swan River defeated Flin Flon 1-0. Thompson took the gold medal game over The Pas by a score of 6-1. OCN defeated Thompson 2-0 to take home the Eddie's Atom 'A' Cup. Gillam won the B-side with a 4-2 win over The Pas, and Flin Flon won the consolation final. In other local hockey action, the Kinsmen Bantam 'AA' Bombers were in The Pas recently for a tournament. They went undefeated, winning all six games to take home the gold medals. In the round robin, Flin Flon started off with a 10-1 win over Norway House. They beat the host from The Pas 9-1, had a 6-1 decision over Thompson and finished with a 4-3 win over Swan River. In the finals, Flin Flon shut out Swan River 5-0.
