Kelly Carrington Staff Writer The Flin Flon Bombers headed into last night's game down 2-0 in the North Finals against the Humboldt Broncos. The games, played in Humboldt last Friday and Saturday, were close scoring-wise but left the Bombers behind with a two-game deficit to overcome. Friday night, the Maroon and White dropped 4-3 in a double-overtime against the Broncos. The next night came a a 2-1 victory for Humboldt. Last night, after The Reminder went to press, the Bombers hosted the Broncos in Game 3 of the series. Game 4 is set for tonight, again at the Whitney Forum. Coming home with two losses, the Bombers need to win at least one of the two home games to send the series back to Humboldt. Humboldt wins yesterday and tonight would give the Broncos a series sweep and a date in the SJHL final against the winner of the Yorkton Terriers-Melville Millionaires series. Scoring Action Friday night, the Broncos got the scoring started as they made it a 1-0 game at 1:05 of the first period. The lead didn't last long as Cam Blair tied the game at 2:28 with help from Dallen Hall. The Broncos picked up their second goal at 7:44, with Hall making it a tie game, once again, at 8:56 with assists going to Riley Storzuk and Brandt Weldon. A scoreless second period left the teams tied as they headed into the third frame. Blair picked up a big goal for the Maroon and White as he made it 3-2 at 5:34. The lead lasted for most of the third period, but the Broncos got the puck past Devin Buffalo to again tie the game at 16:18. The game was forced into double overtime as the Broncos made it a 4-3 game at 11:00 of the second OT period. The scoresheet revealed a close game as the Bombers fired off 48 shots, while Buffalo faced 52. Game 2 saw the Broncos take a 2-0 lead at the end of the second period. Goals for the home team came in at 18:07 and 19:49 of the first and second period. The Bombers earned what would be their only goal of the night at 14:52 of the third period. It came courtesy of Brody Robinson, with assists for Dillan McCombie and Konrad Litke. Buffalo was between the pipes once again as he saw 27 shots come his way.
